Open source! affordable, diy, commuter vehicle

This project has launched!

This commuter vehicle is built around a golf cart and off the shelf components. Constructed with a tube chassis and sheet metal body work. This vehicle is cost effective, fuel efficient and easy to build. Comes with AC, heat, storage and 75mph top speed. Designed to fit 1 person and travel up to 300 miles on one tank. Full suspension and interior make for a comfortable ride. The driver is safely surrounded by steel tubing and protected from the elements.

Construction has already reached the final stages! We road tested the mechanics to make sure everything works. So far we hit 71 mph with no body work! With body work we expect it to reach 75mph. Fuel economy as is was 30mpg! We expect that to improve with the body work. Follow to see how we build the body, get it registered and insured. This is going to be an exciting build!

Fully enclosed commuter vehicles have struggled to gain traction. But we have always wanted one. So instead of waiting for the large manufactures to make them. We decided we would just make it.
